Who is Meher Baba?
The Avatar of the Age
Born Merwan Sheriar Irani in Pune, India in 1894, Meher Baba - meaning "Compassionate Father" - is revered by millions around the world as the Avatar: the direct manifestation of God in human form who comes age after age to lift the consciousness of humanity.
From 1925 until his passing in 1969, Meher Baba observed complete silence, communicating through an alphabet board and later through gestures. His life and teachings remain the subject of sincere remembrance and study.
